Pawsitive Petz ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage on pawsitivepetz.co.za. This policy explains what we store, why, and how you stay in control. It is written to meet the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) in South Africa, the EU/UK GDPR and ePrivacy rules for visitors from Europe, and Google's EU user consent policy and Consent Mode v2 requirements.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We also use browser local storage (for example to keep you signed in to the client portal, and to remember your cookie choice). Both are covered by this policy.
2. Consent before non-essential cookies
When you first visit, only strictly necessary cookies are active. Nothing in the preferences, analytics or marketing categories runs until you opt in. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and we never treat silence or continued browsing as consent. Google Consent Mode signals default to denied and are only updated after you choose.
3. Categories we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
Required for the site to work — secure sign-in to the client portal, booking forms, saving your cookie choice and app installation. These cannot be switched off.
Preferences
Remembers choices such as your suburb, selected service or dismissed prompts so you don't have to set them again.
Analytics
Helps us count visits and see which pages are useful, so we can improve the site. Data is aggregated and never used to identify you.
Marketing
Used to measure our adverts and show relevant Pawsitive Petz offers on other platforms. Off unless you allow it.
Necessary storage includes your authentication session for the client, contractor and admin portals, booking and quote form state, the progressive web app installation, and the record of your cookie choice.
4. Changing or withdrawing consent
You can change your mind at any time — there is no penalty for withdrawing.
When you switch a category off, we push an updated Consent Mode signal and delete the related non-essential cookies we can access. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings.
5. Records of consent
Your choice is stored on your device together with the date and time and the policy version, so we can demonstrate valid, informed and specific consent as required by POPIA and the GDPR. We ask again if this policy changes materially, and at least every 12 months.
6. Your rights and contact
Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold, request correction or deletion, object to processing, or complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
